"Afghanistan: Why We Need to Leave."

We have the opportunity to hear an outstanding speaker on the Afghanistan situation. Phyllis Bennis, fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C., will speak on the topic "8 Years in Afghanistan: Why We Need to Leave." The presentation will be at 7 pm on Wednesday, October 21 in Room 191 of the UW-Milwaukee Student Union, 220 E. Kenwood, Milwaukee and is sponsored by Peace Action Wisconsin and Progressive Students of Milwaukee.


Who Speaks for Islam?
The Institute of World Affairs joins with the US Center for Citizen Diplomacy to present the findings of a multi-year, 35-country study that challenges perceptions about attitudes in the Muslim world. The program features study co-author, Dalia Mogahed, Senior Analyst and Executive Director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, Washington D.C. This event will be held on October 19, 2009 from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at the Hefter Conference Center. The Hefter Conference Center is located at 3271 N. Lake Dr., Milwaukee,WI 53211.
